MCHP Application Procedure

Application Folder

The candidate for admission to a program must submit the following information to complete the application folder:

  • Completed application
  • Essay
  • Non-refundable application fee. The application fee is $50.00.
  • Appropriate Entrance Exam- see below for additional information regarding the entrance exams.
  • Official/sealed high school/ GED/ HISET and college transcripts. Transcripts must be provided from all high schools and colleges attended.
    • Transcripts should show proof of the following:
      • Successful completion of the following high school or college level courses with a grade of "C" or better: Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, and a 2nd Math Course.
        · Results of the SAT or ACT Examination: The SAT or ACT requirement may be waived if the applicant has completed twelve academic college credits with a minimum grade of "C" in each course.

Accuplacer Entrance Exam

  • Students must provide documentation of the following sections of the Accuplacer Entrance Exam: Reading, WritePlacer, Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra 
  • Applicants may make an appointment to take the exam at the College by completing the registration form or by contacting the Admissions Office: The dates and the registration form  for the Accuplacer Entrance Exam can be found on the Admissions Test page.

Nursing Entrance Examination

The HESI Nursing Entrance Exam is an admission requirement for the Nursing Program. The entrance exam provides evidence of an applicant's academic skills in the following areas:

  • Reading
  • Grammar
  • Vocabulary
  • Math
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Anatomy & Physiology

Upon completion of the application folder, selected individuals will be invited to attend informational sessions.  The small group format of these sessions provides the opportunity for open discussion, description of the academic and clinical components required, and answer questions.  If offered acceptance, this information will aid the applicant in making an informed decision regarding enrollment at MCHP.
