Principles of Radiographic Exposure & Physics I

This course includes the study of the production of the x-ray beam, prime exposure factors, filtration, and x-ray interactions with matter. Through discussion and experimentation on energized x ray units, the students will investigate the prime exposure factors and their effects on the image. Radiation protection for patients and personnel will be covered. Creating the image with beam restriction, patient considerations, radiographic grids, digital radiography, and image processing will be explored. A thorough discussion of PACS, digital imaging, and computed radiography, will be included.
