Nursing Faculty
JOB SUMMARY: The role of MCHP faculty is to provide MCHP students a vibrant, engaging, and outcomes-driven learning experience in a small and pioneering educational environment. Working with the support of fellow faculty, deans, and staff, MCHP faculty are welcomed to innovate, expected to support, and encouraged to laugh.
Nursing faculty teach in MCHP’s RN to BSN, associate degree, and practical nursing programs and provide exemplary student support. Faculty use a variety of teaching modalities (online, face-to-face, and hybrid) in a variety of settings (didactic and clinical), have experience and comfort with academic technology, support interprofessional education, and are willing to actively engage in innovation. Faculty are tasked with creating effective student learning experiences that support student success.
Essential Duties:
- Teach nursing courses – didactic and clinical
- Select learning experiences and guide students in achieving desired outcomes
- Participate in the evaluation process of students in achieving desired outcomes
- Advise students
- Participate in curriculum development
- Actively engage in activities that advance the mission and goals of the College
- Maintain clinical and academic expertise
- Comply with requirements and policies delineated in the MCHP faculty handbook
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Master of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
- Minimum of three (3) years’ successful clinical nursing experience
- Unencumbered Registered Nurse License (State of Maine)
- Current healthcare provider BLS certification
- Preferred – Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Preferred – Expertise in the science of effective teaching and learning
- Preferred – Successful record of online instruction
- Preferred – Expertise in course design (including outcomes development and alignment), simulation-based learning, and interprofessional education

Adjunct
Nursing
Adjunct nursing faculty teach in MCHP’s Nursing programs and provide exemplary student support. Adjunct faculty are expected to use a variety of instructional methods and modalities (e.g., online, face-to-face, hybrid), in a variety of settings (classroom, lab, simulation, and/or clinical) have experience and comfort with academic technology and be willing to innovate. The adjunct faculty is tasked with creating effective student learning experiences that support success. Appointments are made on a course-by-course basis and are contingent upon enrollment and program needs.

The Maine College of Health Professions is seeking the following Adjunct Faculty to join our team! These are predominantly daytime positions; schedules may vary based on program needs.
Adjunct Faculty – Biological Sciences (In person). This position is well-suited for individuals interested in teaching Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology courses, those familiar with lab safety standards and are comfortable in a science laboratory setting. This position requires the faculty to teach face-to-face lecture and/or lab courses.
Adjunct Faculty – Communications (In person and online). This position is well-suited for individuals interested in teaching 100 – 400 level Communications courses to health professions students. This position requires the faculty to teach online and face-to-face courses.
Adjunct Faculty – World Religions and Comparative Studies (Online). This position is well-suited for those individuals interested in teaching 300-level World Religions/Comparative Religions courses to health professions students. This position requires the faculty to teach online courses.

Director of Admissions
With keen attention to Maine College of Health Professions’ mission of enriching lives through providing exceptional education in the healthcare professions, the Director of Admissions creates, delivers, and assesses a successful enrollment strategy throughout the recruitment, admission, enrollment, and matriculation cycle.
This individual will work supportively to develop, implement, and manage an engaging and effective system that yields enrollment goals set forth by the College.
Responsibilities
- Leads the enrollment management effort with dynamism and effectiveness, taking into account the challenges and opportunities facing higher education
- Enhances awareness and interest in Maine College of Health Professions throughout the state and region
- Forges relationships with healthcare systems, schools, and other agencies that may advance enrollment efforts
- Manages the recruitment, admissions, and enrollment functions of the college
- Leads the daily operations of the Office of Admission
- Uses creativity and collaboration in developing related systems and processes
- Develops and manages a CRM/applicant management system
- Effectively uses data analysis to support enrollment efforts
- Assists College leadership in identifying enrollment goals
- Adjusts enrollment activities as needed to ensure that goals are met
- Leads the development and delivery of compelling and effective marketing and social media strategies; organize enrollment events
- Works with the Vice President of Enrollment and Financial Affairs to optimize the use of scholarships and aid
- Manages admissions staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a regionally/institutionally accredited college or university
- Minimum three (3) years’ leadership experience in academic admissions
- Successful record or working with students, faculty, and staff in higher education environments
- Successful history in developing strategies and meeting enrollment goals
- Experience with CRM and applicant management systems
- Experience in creating website, social media, marketing collateral, and digital content
- Willingness to travel (occasional)
- Willingness to works nights and weekends (as needed)
- Preferred – Master’s degree from a regionally/institutionally accredited college or university
Maine College of Health Professions offers competitive compensation. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $60,000 to $80,000. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
