Student Services

Explore the services that support your educational experience.

Library

The Gerrish-True Health Sciences Library is available for all MCHP students. Included in library access is reference assistance, computer literature searches with bibliography, interlibrary loan of materials not owned by the library, photocopying of relevant materials stored in the library and electronic access to full-text articles. Remote access to online bibliographic databases is provided to students while enrolled in MCHP.

Computer Lab

MCHP has two computer labs and standalone computer stations throughout the college for student use. Public Wi-Fi is also available for students to use. Each computer is updated with the software necessary for students enrolled at MCHP. Students may access the computer lab seven days a week between 6am-10pm by using their college identification badge.

Learning Assistance Program

A learning assistance program is available to all students, with services including:

• Tutoring (live and 24/7 through Tutor.com)
• Student Success Center
• Individual assistance in time management
• Resource materials
• Study skills
• Computer and video-assisted instruction
• Self-directed study
• Additional campus laboratory practice

A tutor and group study schedule is developed and disseminated at the beginning of each semester.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria, located on the first floor of Central Maine Medical Center, is available to all students. Meals can be purchased at an employee-discounted rate with a student ID badge.

Parking

Designated on-campus parking facilities are available to students. Students will complete the parking application form during new student orientation. Students parking without authorization or in a non-designated parking area risk losing parking privileges, fines, and/or towing.

Security

The on-campus security personnel actively assist MCHP in maintaining a safe and orderly campus environment. The security department may be accessed anytime by calling extension 2299 (on campus) or 207-795-2299 (off-campus).

MCHP identification badges will be issued to all students, faculty, and staff. These badges must be worn while at the college and in the clinical areas. Access to the college, computer lab, and library may be gained by identification badge access only.

Students are responsible for keeping their valuables secure and vehicles locked. Students leaving the college or clinical setting may call security for an escort to their vehicle.

Any suspicious activity or actual breach of security should be reported to the security office immediately.

Student Housing

MCHP does not offer on-campus housing. We have a listing of some local rental companies to share with you to start your housing journey. The list is available by contacting the Bursar at 207-795-2649. A meal plan is not available, but a student may access the cafeteria at Central Maine Medical Center and receive a meal discount by showing their badge.

Health Services

Matriculated students are required to purchase accident insurance through the College. The cost will be billed to the students on an annual basis. Details of the plan are available from the Bursar at 207-795-2649.
Each fall, students are provided flu immunizations. In addition, an annual Tuberculin Skin Test is required for clinical-based programs. Students requiring medical attention, while on campus or clinical, may report to the Emergency Department at their clinical location or CMMC. Students will be billed for all services.
